The tables in Hamilton Hall at the Newman Center for Performing Arts were crammed with instruments, and boxes and cases filled the surrounding floor space. Over 130 teachers, administrators, colleagues, volunteers, and friends from 93 schools across Colorado surveyed the scene with joyful smiles as they imagined the music their students would create with these donations. After a short presentation—including the introduction of the inaugural David Necker Exceptional Musician Award—and an instrument raffle, the music educators loaded the 800+ instruments into their vehicles for the start of their journey to their new homes.
