Donate your Instrument
Turn your instrument into an instrument of change!
Each spring, we host a two-week drive and ask the community to donate gently used musical instruments commonly used in band, orchestra, mariachi, guitar, modern band, and keyboard school music programs. We refurbish these instruments to excellent playing condition and donate them to school music programs throughout the state for the following school year. The dates for our 2026 Instrument Drive are March 23–April 5.
Typically, the instruments in highest demand include baritone horns, baritone saxophones, cellos, double basses, tenor saxophones, tubas, and violas. With the help of individuals like you, we are able to meet those needs! If you have a drum set, upright bass, or portable keyboard you'd like to donate, please get in touch with us at info@bringingmusictolife.org so that we can make additional arrangements.
Sorry, but we are not able to accept pianos or organs due to their size and the cost of transporting them. Additionally, we cannot accept accordions, recorders, autoharps, hammered dulcimers, banjos, or other instruments not typically used in school music programs.
We are grateful for the thousands of instrument donations we have received over the years. In 2025, more than 1,000 instruments were dropped off during the drive at locations in Broomfield, Boulder, Centennial, Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, Golden, Grand Junction, Greeley, Lakewood, Loveland, Parker, Pueblo, and Wheat Ridge.
New for 2026 – due to input from the community, several of our drop-off partners now accept instrument donations year-round!
